Metric

is a Canadian indie rock band formed in 1998, known for their blend of electronic and rock music. Fronted by vocalist Emily Haines, the band also includes James Shaw (guitar), Joshua Winstead (bass), and Joules Scott-Key (drums). Metric gained recognition with their debut album Old World Underground, Where Are You Now? (2003), and their hit single "Help I'm Alive" from the 2009 album Fantasies propelled them to international fame. They are celebrated for their energetic live performances, introspective lyrics, and a sound that merges synth-pop with alternative rock.
